Applications are evaluated individually based on immediate need and specific circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-foreground-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-foreground-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants must show one or more of the following <strong>critical unmet needs<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Essential medications not covered by insurance<\/strong><br><em>Required documentation:<\/em> Pharmacy receipt or cost estimate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Food insecurity<\/strong><br>When local food banks or aid organizations cannot meet the need.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Emergency clothing replacement<\/strong><br>Due to fire, flood, or similar disasters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Utility bill payments<\/strong><br><em>(Gas, water, electricity)<\/em> not covered by state or local programs.<br><em>Required documentation:<\/em> Utility shutoff notice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-foreground-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-foreground-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifying Emergency Situations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following situations may qualify for assistance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Home damage<\/strong> from fire, flood, or natural disaster.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Eviction or risk of eviction<\/strong><br><em>Required documentation:<\/em> Eviction notice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Serious illness or injury<\/strong><br>Resulting in temporary or permanent loss of income.<br><em>Required documentation:<\/em> Medical bills and brief description.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Robbery or burglary<\/strong><br>Leading to the loss of essential daily living resources.<br><em>Required documentation:<\/em> Police report.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Job loss without severance or alternate income<\/strong><br><em>Required documentation:<\/em> Termination letter or unemployment claim.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-foreground-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-foreground-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Non-Qualifying Requests<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Relief Fund <strong>cannot provide assistance<\/strong> for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rent or mortgage payments <strong>without a valid cause<\/strong>, such as job loss.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Insurance premiums, car payments, furniture, or tax\/credit card bills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Child support or alimony.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Travel or vacation expenses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Club dues or organizational memberships.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Legal fees or attorney retainers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gambling-related losses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>General vehicle repairs (unless deemed critical).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Moving expenses (only considered in extreme cases).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-foreground-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-foreground-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Decision Process &amp; Funding Limits<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applications are reviewed by the <strong>Region One Relief Fund Committee<\/strong> on a case-by-case basis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maximum award per applicant: <strong>$500<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Decisions are based on <strong>urgency, documentation, and current living conditions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relief Fund <strong>cannot cover<\/strong> replacement of homes, vehicles, computers, or high-value items. These should be pursued through insurance or state victim assistance programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Region One Coordinator<\/strong> holds final decision authority on all cases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-foreground-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-foreground-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submit Relief Request by mail or email<\/strong>. Be sure to include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Detailed explanation<\/strong> of your situation, including:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Specific amount requested<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nature of the emergency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relevant documentation (e.g. medical bills, eviction notices, police reports)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Your contact and membership information<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Full legal name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Postal address<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email address (if available)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phone number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SCC number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of good standing in Region One and STARFLEET<br>(<em>Letter from Chapter CO or STARFLEET database confirmation accepted<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Send your application to both<\/strong> the <strong>Region One Treasurer<\/strong> and <strong>Region One Coordinator (RC)<\/strong>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Email submissions must include <strong>scanned or photographed documentation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Optional:<\/strong> A verification letter from your <strong>Chapter Commanding Officer<\/strong> may strengthen your application.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-foreground-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-foreground-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important Notes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Relief is <strong>one-time only<\/strong>.
