34th Annual Cherokee Fall Festival – USS Tanasi

Fellow family and friends of Region One,
The crew of the USS Tanasi cordially invites all chapters and their members to join us for a joint away mission to the 34th Annual Cherokee Fall Festival at the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum, located in Vonore, Tennessee—home to the only tribally owned museum in the state.

Mission Date & Time:

Saturday, September 6, 2025
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Earth Central Time Zone)

This cultural engagement offers a unique opportunity to explore and honor the rich traditions of the Cherokee Nation, a people whose resilience and spirit echo the ideals of the United Federation of Planets.

Mission Highlights Include:

Live demonstrations of Cherokee arts and crafts
Operation of a historic 1800s Acorn Printing Press
Traditional music, storytelling, and dance
Blacksmithing and frontier life exhibits
Interactive displays of Cherokee life in the 1700s
Civil War reenactment honoring Earth’s complex past
Meet Miss Cherokee and have your name transcribed in the Cherokee syllabary
Student displays from Cherokee Elementary
Children’s and adult blowgun competitions
Performances by the Warrior Dancers of Ani-Kituhwa, official ambassadors of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians

Mess Hall Offerings:

Traditional Indian Fry Bread, Indian Tacos, and other refreshments will be available for purchase (replicators offline for this mission).

Landing Fees (Admission/Pay at the Gate):

Adults: $10
Cadets (13–18): $5
Children (12 & under): Free
Family Group (2 adults + 2 cadets): $25
